Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil Review & Giveaway

I was given the opportunity to review some products from Tropical Traditions. Tropical Traditions was founded in 2002 by a husband and wife who wanted to provide organic virgin coconut oil for consumers to use in foods as well as other things such as non-toxic household products and organic based skin care products.  Tropical Traditions is also the first US business that was developed to sell organic virgin coconut oil and they are the premier supplier of virgin coconut oil in the US .

What makes this gold label brand of coconut oil so different than others? It's simple it's not mass produced using machinery it's made by hand by families that are USDA certified organic.  I was given 2 pints of the Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil to try and when I received it I was immediately searching for something to make with it. I looked on the Tropical Traditions website for some recipes and they all looked wonderful but I didn't have a lot of the ingredients some of the recipes called for. Then I remembered I was planning on making a batch of cupcakes so I decided to substitute vegetable oil and use the Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil.

Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil

I did have to melt some of the virgin coconut oil and let it cool off before I used it in my cupcake batter and it did smell like coconut. I then put together my cupcakes so that I could bake them. When they came out of the oven they looked very delicious. I was wondering if they would taste funny since I was using a chocolate cake recipe with a mocha and caramel icings. Once the cupcakes cooled I bit into one of the cupcakes before I iced them just to see what they would taste like and they were yummy, I only tasted a hint of the coconut flavor. This could be because I didn't use very much of it since it didn't call for very much oil and I had used it as a substitute.

Virgin Coconut Oil can also be used in many recipes like homemade ketchup, salad dressings, as well as soups and you can also fry with it. There are other ways to use coconut oil besides cooking such as for hair treatment. Coconut oil has been popularly used for natural hair treatment with African American hair types. I did not use this in my hair but I have heard that it makes your hair feel soft and smooth. I will continue to cook with the product in the future.

There are many products that you can find at Tropical Traditions such as Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Teeth Cleaners and as well as pet products such as  the Expeller-Pressed Coconut Oil. I do recommend Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil to use in your food as I have not use it in any other way. You can purchase coconut oil as well as other products on the Tropical Traditions website. You can also become a Fan on Facebook or follow them on Twitter @Troptraditions as well as @ttspecialdeals to stay updated, they can also be found on Pinterest.

I invite you to watch a short video to learn more about How to Use Virgin Coconut Oil.

Thanks to Tropical Traditions one lucky Debra's Dollars reader will win Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil just like I received.
