The Artisan Pizza Crust with Whole Grain is very new so I had a hard time finding it in the stores, but after looking in 3 stores I finally found it at good ole Walmart. I picked the perfect night to make the pizza my sister and nephew came to visit as well as my kids friend Jacob. This gave me the opportunity to have a lot of taste testers on hand for their opinions too, because I think it's important I get my family's opinion too as to whether they would eat the product again. Since Jacob wants to go to culinary school to become a chef in just 4 very short years I thought this was the perfect time to get him into my kitchen to help with this masterpiece.
I started by opening the pizza crust which comes in a can just like biscuits, so it's easy and convenient to use, so this is something kids can help do. As I was rolling the dough out onto the pan I noticed how easy it was to roll it out. After rolling it all out onto the pan I was thinking wow it sure does look like whole grain I hope this doesn't taste like whole grain bread because I just don't like that kind of bread, and neither does the rest of my family. So I popped the dough into the oven to pre bake it as per the instructions on the package and once it came out we hurried to get the toppings on so that we could get it back in so we could finishing baking it to try it.
I was very surprised when the pizza came out the crust was not to thin and not to thick it was perfect and it was a little soft yet crunchy. The flavor of the crust didn't taste anything like whole grain bread, but it was very delicious, and it really was the best homemade pizza I've ever had. After everyone got a chance to try the pizza I asked them their opinion and they all said they liked it too, but Jacob he wasn't sure he liked it as much as the rest of us. You see Jacob isn't much of a pizza lover like the rest of us so I did buy a different kind of crust in case some of us didn't like it because this was our supper.
So for the second pizza I made it the same way but I used a different crust I used the classic crust made by Pillsbury. The pizza came out and we all ate some of it. My first thought in my mind was I liked the Artisan Pizza Crust with Whole Grain better. Without telling anyone my opinion I asked my sister if she liked the first pizza or the second pizza better and she said oh yes the first one most definitely, so then I asked Jacob and he said he did too he really liked the first one better, and my kids and nephew agreed as well. So you see even the most pickiest eaters like Jacob who aren't pizza lovers can still be pleased with this yummy Artisan Pizza Crust with Whole Grain.
