Revive your Wardrobe with Fun Fall Looks!

Planning a seasonal wardrobe doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank on a whole new closet of clothing.  You can easily pull inspiration from the hottest runway styles. No matter what your budget or body type, you can get glam!  This fall, plan to pair classic looks with funky trends to maximize your personal style impact.  From classic pea coats and comfy cable sweaters to bright colors and bold prints, this season offers something for tastes both daring and demure.

For starters, think about your own personal comfort level.  Do you like layers or a sleek look? Do you live in a chillier clime, or can you bare a little skin?  Classic staples like a pair of good black tights and a pea coat will get you far, especially if you pair them with a courageous kick of color.  Try a bright pair of pumps, or even a festive handbag in a kooky print.

A surprising look at this season’s Fashion Week gave a new meaning to the term “sweater weather.”  See what you can do with those snuggly knits you’ve kept in the back of your closet.  Maybe pair a plain turtleneck with a feminine, silky skirt.  How about a simple woolen cardigan with an eye-catching array of necklaces?  Pile on the glamour and be prepared to watch your comfy classics transform.

Another way to brighten up your staples is with a striking collar.  You can find cute, detachable collars at several online retailers.  If you’re feeling particularly crafty, you can even make your own!  A sequined or rhinestone collar can add a lot of drama to a basic button-down.  If you can’t quite commit to this trendy look all day long, simply attach a kicky collar after work and make a bold transition from day to night.

Playing with color is always fun, and this fall is no exception.  Color block prints are still in style, and you can create your own color block look by pairing solid colored tops and bottoms for an easy mix-and-match look.  Look out for pieces in deep burgundy: this hot fall color flatters most and was featured in several runway shows.  Add a little flair to a basic black dress with oxblood pumps or a wine colored belt.

Since fashion is all about looking and feeling good, don’t be afraid to play around with different textures, accessories and shoes.
Old-fashioned textures like pleats and even Mary Jane’s are making a comeback.  Be careful not to get lost in the fabric; try pairing a chunky quilted jacket or dress with sleek black tights or leggings to draw attention to the lines of your silhouette.

No matter which fall trends you choose to try, make sure you feel comfortable and confident in your looks. Pull out those sweaters, slip on your tights, and layer on the sparkle and shine. A little daring can go a long way towards juicing up your creativity and enhancing your overall personal style!
